TL;DR: Donald Trump has inflicted more catastrophic damage on this country—and the entire planet—than any president in American history. From rambling nonsensically at the UN to dragging us into an unauthorized war with Iran on Bibi Netanyahu’s word, “Orange Julius Caesar” is running foreign policy like a drunken game of risk. At home, he’s trying to slap his name on D.C. monuments, turning vanity projects into fake “military drone bunkers” to dodge the law, and surrounding himself with a circus of ghouls: Kash Patel lowering FBI standards for bestiality, Markwayne Mullin sending ICE to polling places, and Pete Hegseth gutting military leadership for a white-nationalist fever dream. Now, as midterms approach, cowardly Republicans are scrambling to scrub Trump from their campaign sites while taking credit for Biden’s infrastructure bills. We aren’t living in a functioning democracy; we’re being held hostage by a narcissist with delusions of grandeur—and it’s costing us a second mortgage just to fill up the gas tank.

Welcome back to the corporate oligarchy, folks.

Let’s not sugarcoat it: Donald Trump has done more raw, measurable harm to this country—hell, to the entire human race—than any President in American history.

Just look at his recent performance at the UN General Assembly in New York. There stood the leader of the free world, casually using the podium to spout apocalyptic threats to annihilate another sovereign nation like a comic-book villain. He then immediately pivoted to embarrassing himself further with rambling, incoherent musings about how his entire global strategy depended on whether Republicans win the upcoming midterm elections.

In case anyone reading this has been asleep for the last 10 years: the Republicans control all three branches of the federal government right now. If he actually wanted to “make a deal” with Iran, as he so eloquently put it, he could do it before lunch today. Instead, he dragged this nation into an unauthorized, unconstitutional war based entirely on the word of Bibi Netanyahu and his own inflated hubris. Every single country on the face of the planet is currently suffering from Orange Julius Caesar’s blind, unchecked stupidity.

Vanity Projects, oops, Military Bunkers

If skyrocketing gas and diesel prices aren’t enough to roast your chestnuts this week, then Grab-Ass Grandpa’s nationwide narcissistic vanity tour certainly should.

Trump is currently attempting to rename half of Washington, D.C., by slapping his logo on historic monuments—a move that is blatantly, unequivocally illegal. Meanwhile, his most desperate sycophants are out there literally arguing that we should carve his fat head into Mount Rushmore. What the actual f*ck are we doing here?

Our self-proclaimed “stable genius” president genuinely thinks the American public is as brain-dead as he is. His latest legal maneuver to bypass historic preservation laws is claiming that all of his ostentatious vanity projects—like his 250-foot triumphal arch and his $400 million White House ballroom—are actually “vital military installations” equipped with underground bunkers, rooftop sniper nests, and drone ports. Right. If anyone out there actually buys the line that a golden arch in the middle of a traffic circle is a top-secret national security asset, call me—I have a slightly damaged reflecting pool I’d love to sell you.

The Clown Cabinet of Doom

To throw high-octane gasoline on an already raging dumpster fire, the Trump stooges leading our country’s most critical institutions are actively manufacturing fresh crises on multiple fronts:

  • RFK Jr. at HHS: Making measles great again, one unvaccinated outbreak at a time.

  • Scott Bessent at Treasury: Busy playing a shell game with our financial system to keep the billionaire class floating while working families drown in inflation.

  • Steve Witcoff & Jared Kushner: Trump’s real estate golf buddy and his golden-child son-in-law are making a buddy movie out of American foreign policy, jet-setting across the globe and breaking diplomacy while lining their own pockets.

  • Kash Patel: Our googly-eyed FBI Director somehow dragged the agency into a bizarre public Senate hearing debate over bestiality, bizarrely claiming that the FBI shouldn’t disqualify job applicants who engaged in it because they were “victims”—apparently out of his deep, abiding love for animals. You truly cannot make this stuff up.

  • Markwayne Mullin at DHS: The sequel to jet-setter Kristi Noem, Mullin continues to promote ICE as Trump’s personal secret police force, actively threatening that armed immigration agents will enter polling places during the midterms to “execute warrants”—a blatant attempt to intimidate voters at the ballot box.

  • Todd Blanche: Trump’s personal defense attorney—oops, I mean the Attorney General of the United States—is using your hard-earned tax dollars to prosecute Trump’s political critics while keeping the Epstein files permanently buried under lock and key.

  • Pete Hegseth at Defense: Our visibly impaired Secretary of Defense is busy trying to build a Christian-only Army and ranting about boosting testosterone for troops, all while decimating the ranks of brilliant, seasoned military officers who happen not to look like white nationalists.

So, yeah. We’ve got all that going for us.

The Midterm Chicken Scramble

Now that the midterm elections are rapidly approaching, the cowardly, self-serving enablers in the Republican Party are frantically trying to put some distance between themselves and the wreckage.

After two full years of blindly rubber-stamping his most disastrous, fascist impulses, a few spineless GOP members are suddenly speaking up, whispering to the Dictator Tot to “tone it down a bit.” Most of them are quietly scrubbing any evidence of their cozy relationship with Trump from their campaign websites, all while trying to take credit for the local infrastructure projects funded by laws Joe Biden passed.

To their credit, though, the radical fringe isn’t even bothering to hide their worldview anymore. They are proudly putting up candidates like Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and fellow Nazi-adjacent firearm influencer Brandon Herrera. And, of course, there’s Georgia’s own Mike Collins—who is suddenly claiming he’s “totally against the Iran war” after years of screaming on cable news to bomb Tehran into oblivion.

A Small Saving Grace

I suppose we can all be deeply thankful that we haven’t been issued mandatory MAGA armbands yet, or forced by ICE to bow down and pray at the altar of the Orange Baby Jesus.

As far as a functioning constitutional democracy goes, we are currently screwed, being led by an unhinged narcissist suffering from terminal delusions of grandeur. This circus might be great content for late-night comedians, but the rest of us are having to take out a second mortgage just to fill up our gas tanks.
