Diesel: The Netanyahu-Trump War on Iran Threatens Shortages, Price Spike

Let’s lay it all out: two men — one under active corruption indictments, one who literally tried to overthrow his own government — have jointly decided to light the Middle East on fire, and the bill is going to show up at your local gas station, your grocery store, and your heating bill this winter. The Strait of Hormuz isn’t just a geography trivia question; it’s the jugular vein of global oil supply. When Donny Draft Dodger and Bibi start flexing their matching messiah complexes in the Persian Gulf, diesel prices don’t go up in a vacuum — trucking costs spike, food prices follow, and the working class gets squeezed while oil executives and defense contractors pop champagne.

And who do you think is quietly making bank while you’re choosing between groceries and gas? The fossil fuel lobby that has spent decades pouring dark money into both the Republican Party and hawkish foreign policy think tanks. War is inflationary. Inflation is profitable — if you’re Exxon, Chevron, or Raytheon. This isn’t a bug in the Netanyahu-Trump war machine; it’s a feature. The Epstein Class doesn’t drive diesel trucks. They have private jets and futures contracts.

You need to understand that every time a politician beats the war drum with Iran, Cuba or Greenland (eye roll), somebody in a boardroom is already calculating their quarterly earnings bump. The question isn’t whether YOU can afford $6 diesel — it’s whether the billionaire donor class even noticed the price went up. They didn’t. But you will. Remember, affordable gas and groceries is a Democrat hoax. So, it’s time to get angry, and then get organized, because nobody in this administration is managing a foreign policy crisis — they’re managing a profit opportunity.

How ‘Psychopath’ Trump’s Mayhem Will Backfire in 2028 for Republicans

Here’s the optimistic take that political analysts love to sell: don’t worry, the chaos will eventually boomerang, democracy has self-correcting mechanisms, and the voters will sort it out in 2028. It’s a comforting bedtime story. The problem is that by 2028, The Fanta Fascist and his Tech-bro backers will have had two more years to gerrymander districts, purge voter rolls, defund election oversight, pack every court from the Supreme down to your local magistrate, and make Elon Musk the de facto administrator of whatever social media ecosystem Americans still use to get their news. Calling Trump a ‘psychopath’ as though that’s a new diagnosis — as though the diagnosis changes anything — is the political equivalent of describing a house fire as ‘quite warm.’

The real story buried under the 2028 horse-race framing is this: the billionaire donor class funding the Republican Party doesn’t actually care if Republicans win in 2028. They care about the structural changes being locked in RIGHT NOW — the tax cuts, the deregulation, the gutting of the administrative state, the systematic destruction of every institution that could hold corporate power accountable. By the time the ‘backlash’ arrives, the dark money architecture will have already won. That’s the long game. And it’s being played by people who think in decades while we think in election cycles.

Stop waiting for the system to self-correct. That’s not democracy — that’s learned helplessness dressed up in pundit clothing. The time to fight is not 2028. It’s right now, while there are still institutions left to fight for.

Trump faces backlash over reports US navy carrier could be named after him instead of Black war hero

Just when you think the ego on our comb-over commander couldn’t possibly expand any further, he apparently looks at the United States Navy — an institution with a centuries-long tradition of honoring genuine heroes — and thinks: ‘Yes, this should be about me.’ The carrier in question was slated to honor Doris Miller, a Black Navy messman who manned an anti-aircraft gun at Pearl Harbor without training, earned the Navy Cross, and died serving a country that still legally segregated him. But sure, let’s name it after a man who got five Vietnam deferments, one for bone spurs that somehow never stopped him from playing golf. The audacity is so staggering it would be funny if it weren’t a precise symbol of everything this administration represents: erasing real sacrifice, centering performative power, and rewriting history in real time.

This isn’t just about one ship’s name. This is about a systematic effort to reshape American mythology — to replace the story of working people, people of color, and genuine patriots with the gold-plated brand of one narcissist and his donor class. The same administration gutting DEI programs, erasing Black history from federal curricula, and whitewashing the National Archives is now floating the idea of literally sailing a warship under Trump’s name instead of a Black war hero’s. The symbolism isn’t accidental. It’s a message about whose sacrifices count and whose legacy gets a hull number.

Doris Miller deserves that carrier. Full stop. And the fact that we’re even having this conversation is a measure of exactly how far the rot has spread from the Oval Office into every corner of American institutional life. If you’re not furious, you’re not paying attention.

Progressive Aisha Wahab wins California special election to fill Eric Swalwell seat

In the middle of the most relentless authoritarian assault on American democracy in living memory, a progressive Muslim woman just won a congressional seat in California — and the political media barely had time to cover it between their fourth breathless segment on Trump’s latest Truth Social meltdown. Aisha Wahab’s victory matters not just symbolically but structurally: this is what the resistance actually looks like when it shows up, organizes, knocks on doors, and refuses to be demoralized by the daily firehose of Trump’s chaos. This is the antidote to doom-scrolling — actual votes, actual wins, actual people in actual office.

But let’s not get starry-eyed without acknowledging what Wahab is walking into: a Congress where dark money has metastasized into every committee assignment, where corporate PACs write legislation before members even read it, and where the Techno-Fascist wing of the Republican Party has weaponized procedural rules to grind progressive legislation into dust. Winning a seat is the beginning of a fight, not the end of one. The question is whether the Democratic Party establishment will back her with real resources and real solidarity — or whether the consultant class will immediately start whispering that she needs to ‘moderate’ her positions to make donors comfortable.

Here’s what you should take from this: people power still works. Organizing still works. Turnout in special elections still works. The billionaire class is counting on your exhaustion and your cynicism — because an exhausted, cynical electorate is an electorate that stays home. Don’t give them the satisfaction. Wahab’s win is a blueprint. Replicate it everywhere.

Why is the Trump administration causing turmoil in the bond markets? | Richard Partington

Bond markets are where sober finance people go to be boring, and when THEY start panicking, it means the adults in the room have finally noticed that the building is on fire. What’s happening is this: the Trump administration’s combination of reckless tariffs, ballooning deficits from billionaire tax cuts, and geopolitical arson in the Middle East is spooking global investors who hold US Treasury debt. When bond yields spike, borrowing costs go up — for governments, for businesses, for anyone with a mortgage or a car loan or a credit card. The ripple effects hitting governments worldwide aren’t abstract; they’re teachers getting laid off in school districts, infrastructure projects cancelled, and social safety nets fraying in countries that had nothing to do with Nostra-dumbass’ trade war fantasies.

Here’s the part the financial press buries under technical jargon: this chaos is not incompetence. The people funding this administration — the hedge funds, the private equity vultures, the short-sellers — know exactly how to profit from market volatility. While your pension fund bleeds and foreign governments scramble to service their dollar-denominated debt, certain well-connected members of the Epstein Class are positioned to clean up. Market turmoil is just redistribution by another name — upward, always upward, from the many to the very, very few.

The global bond market is essentially the planet’s credit rating on American governance — and right now, that rating is getting steadily downgraded. Every percentage point rise in yields is the market saying: ‘We’re not sure these people can be trusted with the world’s reserve currency.’ They can’t. And when this unravels — not if, when — the people who caused it will have already moved their money somewhere safe, while the rest of us are left holding the bag. You should be livid. And you should be demanding accountability before the bill comes due.
