Big Oil Is Seeing Windfall Profits as Trump’s War on Iran Drives Up Prices
Let’s break down what’s happening here: American soldiers are dying in the Persian Gulf, gas prices are strangling working families, and somewhere in a Houston boardroom, ExxonMobil executives are popping Cristal and upgrading their yacht orders. This isn’t a side effect of the war — it’s the point. When our Big Mac Messia launched his divine crusade against Iran, the fossil fuel industry didn’t just benefit; they *cashed in*. Crude prices spiked, refinery margins exploded, and Big Oil posted profit numbers that would make a medieval king blush. Follow the money, because the money always tells the truth.
Who do you think funded the political infrastructure that put Trump back in the White House? The same oil and gas executives who are now printing money on the back of a Middle East conflict. Dark money PACs, SuperPACs, the whole labyrinthine sewage system of Citizens United-era corruption — it flows from fossil fuel fortunes directly into the political machinery that manufactures consent for endless war. In 2024 Trump told roughly 20 executives—including representatives from ExxonMobil, Chevron, and Occidental Petroleum that a $1 billion donation was a small price to pay given the massive financial windfall the industry would receive from his policies. This is the revolving door spinning so fast it’s become a centrifuge, separating working people from their money and depositing it straight into the Epstein Class’s offshore accounts.
You are paying four dollars a gallon so that a handful of billionaires can afford a third ski chalet in Aspen. Your heating bill, your grocery prices, every economic ripple from spiking oil costs — that’s the war dividend, and it’s being collected by people who will never send their own children to fight. This is war profiteering in broad daylight, with a presidential seal on it. Get angry. Then get organized.

We’re Half a Year Into Trump’s War on Iran. Congress Has Tools to End It.
Six months. Six months of an undeclared, unconstitutional war launched by a man who can’t spell ‘sovereignty’ but apparently gets to shred it. The War Powers Resolution exists precisely for this moment — it was written in the wreckage of Vietnam specifically so that no single ego-drunk executive could drag the country into a forever war on vibes and divine mandate. Congress has the constitutional authority, the legal mechanism, and the moral obligation to pull this emergency brake. The only thing they’re missing is a spine.
Here’s the ugly truth behind the paralysis: too many members of Congress are bought and paid for. Defense contractors — Raytheon, Lockheed, Northrop Grumman, the whole Death Star construction crew — have spent decades building a donor network so thick that voting against military escalation feels, to these people, like setting fire to their campaign war chest. The dark money flows in, the weapons contracts flow out, and the actual humans bleeding in the Gulf are just a line item on somebody’s quarterly earnings call. This is what ‘support the troops’ looks like when filtered through a $50,000 fundraiser in Georgetown.
But here’s the thing they don’t want you to know: Congress can end this. The War Powers Resolution allows legislators to force a vote, cut off funding, and demand accountability. Every day they don’t is a choice — a deliberate, cowardly, corrupt choice. Call your representatives. Demand they use every tool available. Because if Congress won’t stop this war, the next election needs to install people who will.

Trump sign executive order renaming Lake Ontario to Lake America
I want you to stop what you’re doing and really absorb this: the President of the United States — a country currently running a $2 trillion deficit, fighting an illegal war, watching its middle class evaporate, and losing allies faster than Farty 47 eats chicken nuggets — signed an executive order renaming a Great Lake. A lake that has been called Ontario for literally thousands of years, named by Indigenous peoples who lived on its shores before a single European boot touched this continent. He renamed it ‘Lake America.’ With a Sharpie. On camera. Grinning like he’d just solved world hunger.
This is authoritarian aesthetics 101. You rename the geography, you rewrite the history, you replace Indigenous heritage with a brand. It’s not silly — it’s sinister. Strongmen throughout history have understood that controlling names means controlling narrative. Meanwhile, every cable news network will spend 48 hours covering the lake rename instead of the oil windfall profits, the congressional abdication on war powers, or the dark money networks eating democracy alive. The spectacle IS the strategy. Trump is a tabloid president running a tabloid government, and the media is the most willing accomplice in the room.
Lake Ontario will still be Lake Ontario in Canada, in every atlas, in every Indigenous community that named it, and in the living memory of every person who understands that a Sharpie signature doesn’t rewrite ten thousand years of history. But the real danger isn’t the rename — it’s the normalization. When we spend our outrage budget on lakes, we have less left for wars, corruption, and the billionaire class strip-mining what’s left of this republic. Don’t take the bait. Stay focused.

Is Trump’s War Handing Democrats Their Next Win?
Oh good, the Democrats are smelling electoral opportunity again. Nothing focuses the party of ‘we’ll do better next time’ quite like the possibility of winning something while the country is on fire. Yes, polling shows the Iran war is deeply unpopular. Yes, Trump’s approval is cratering faster than a drone over the Strait of Hormuz. And yes, technically, an unpopular war run by an unpopular president should be a political gift. But let’s pump the brakes before we start ordering ‘I Told You So’ bumper stickers, because the Democratic Party has a legendary talent for fumbling a sure thing.
Here’s the structural problem: the same defense contractor dark money that keeps Republicans silent about the war has its tentacles in Democratic fundraising too. It’s harder to run as the ‘peace party’ when Raytheon is hosting your Senate campaign fundraiser. The professional consultant class will counsel caution, triangulation, and ‘not going too far’ — which is precisely the brand of lukewarm strategic cowardice that lost them the 2024 election in the first place. If Democrats think they can win by simply being the ‘less Trumpy’ option without articulating a genuine vision, they’re going to discover that ‘we’re slightly less disastrous’ doesn’t move voters.
The real question isn’t whether Trump’s war hands Democrats a win — it’s whether Democrats are capable of deserving one. The winning message isn’t just ‘the war is bad.’ It’s the full package: the war is illegal, it’s enriching Big Oil, it was launched without Congressional authorization, and it represents everything broken about a political system owned by the donor class. Say that. Say it loudly. Stop hedging. The country doesn’t need a more polished version of the same corrupt system — it needs people willing to blow the whole rotten thing up at the ballot box.

🐂 Abdul El-Sayed Went on Fox and Cut Through Jesse Watters’s Bullshit
Jesse Watters built a career on the assumption that nobody would ever show up to his little carnival and actually engage with the machinery behind the curtain. He does the smirk, the softball setups for Republican guests, the gotcha questions for anyone with a conscience, and then he retreats to commercial while his audience marinates in carefully curated outrage. Abdul El-Sayed walked into that studio and refused to play the game — and watching a Fox News host get intellectually outmaneuvered in real time is honestly one of the few remaining pleasures available in this collapsing republic.
El-Sayed matters because he represents what opposition media actually requires: people willing to go into hostile territory and make the argument with precision and moral clarity instead of performative outrage. The Techno-Fascists and their media empire — Fox, Newsmax, the entire right-wing content industrial complex funded by Murdoch money and Heritage Foundation dark money — depend on their opponents either refusing to engage or showing up unprepared and getting steamrolled. Every time someone walks into that room armed with facts, policy depth, and the ability to pivot Watters’s deflections back into genuine accountability, it cracks the bubble a little.
But let’s not declare victory because one progressive doctor won a cable news segment. The infrastructure that produces Jesse Watters — the billionaire donor networks, the think tanks, the dark money political machine that turned Fox News into a state propaganda outlet — that infrastructure is still fully operational, still spending hundreds of millions to keep working-class Americans angry at the wrong people. One good TV appearance is a moment. Dismantling the system that requires it is the mission. Watch the clip. Share it. Then go after the machine.
